U.S. Army Spc. Fabian Olmos (right), an M1A2 System Enhanced Package V3 Abrams Main Battle Tank crewman assigned to Alpha “Aces” Company, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, learns about the Flakpanzer Gepard, a self-propelled anti-aircraft cannon from Romanian allies while celebrating BPTA Day at Bemowo Piskie Training Area, Poland, Sept. 6, 2024. BPTA inherited the traditions of the 5th Zaslavian Uhlan Regiment, which fought against the German military in September 1939 at Drygaly, Biala Piska. The tradition emphasizes BPTA’s connection with its local community. The 1st Cavalry Division and Task Force Pegasus recognize the importance of connecting with local communities throughout Europe. Through community engagements, they continue strengthening the bonds between local communities, assuring NATO allies of the partnership and cooperation. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Kali Ecton)
