    "The President's Own" U.S. Marine Band

    John Phillip Sousa was the Director of the United States Marine Band from 1880-1892. As 17th Director of the band, he brought the band to national prominence and began writing the pieces that earned him the title “The March King,” including “Semper Fidelis” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”
