FORT WALKER, Va. – Cyber Legion Soldiers from the 782d Military Intelligence Battalion (Cyber) are the 780th MI Brigade’s 2024 Best Squad and were recognized at an award ceremony hosted by Col. Candy Boparai (far right), the brigade commander, and Command Sgt. Major Joseph Daniel (far left), the brigade’s senior enlisted leader, at Fort Walker Warrior Camp, September 12.
The 782d squad consists of (left to right) Spc. Sean Striedel, 17C, cyberspace operations specialist, D Co., 782d MI BN; Spc. Joseph Yope, 35N, signals intelligence analyst, D Co., 782 MI BN; Spc. Sean Sobik, 35P, signals intelligence voice interceptor, D Co., 782d MI BN; Sgt. Keaton Posey, team lead, 35N, B Co., 782d MI BN; and Staff Sgt. Tate Parmenter, squad leader, 35N, D Co., 782d MI Battalion.
Staff Sgt. Parmenter is the Brigade’s NCO of the Year for 2024, and Spc. Sobik is the Brigade’s Soldier of the Year for 2024, making it a clean sweep for the Cyber Legion.
