YOKOSUKA, Japan (Sept. 27, 2024) – Chief Information Systems Technician Alfredo Torres, from El Paso, Texas, assigned to Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, salutes sideboys after being promoted to chief petty officer during the chief pinning ceremony at the Benny Decker Theater on Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Sept. 27, 2024. Thirteen selectees were promoted to chief petty officer during the pinning ceremony. The U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and routinely operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
