U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Logan K. Lindsey, 737th Training Group section chief, has a combination cover placed during a pinning ceremony for newly appointed chief petty officers at the Gateway Club Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, Sept. 29, 2024. Lindsey was sponsored and participated in the Chief Petty Officer initiation to become an honorary chief. The U.S. Navy officially established the rank of chief petty officer on April 1, 1893, and indicates that a Sailor has achieved senior non-commissioned officer status.
