A firefighter with the South Jersey Transportation Authority Fire Department, Station 24-1, closes the windows of a burning structure to allow smoke to build up as part of a structural live-fire training at the Atlantic County Fire Academy, located at the Anthony 'Tony' Canale Fire Training Center in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, Sept. 24, 2024. The live-fire training consisted of ventilating the structure of smoke, heat and toxic gasses, entering the structure through different means, isolation using various methods to prevent the spread of fire, and searching the structure for victims, known as VEIS, followed by fire suppression.
