A Military Funeral and Honors team salutes as the flag-draped casket containing the remains of Illinois Army National Guard Pfc. Harry Jerele arrives for the committal services at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood Oct. 4. Jerele, who served in Company B, 192nd Tank Battalion, was laid to rest with full military honors nearly 82 years after he died in captivity as a Prisoner of War in the Philippines. DPAA announced his remains had been identified in April. His remains were repatriated to his family Oct. 1 in a ceremony at O’Hare International Airport.
