U.S. Air Force Capt. Clifford Mua, a pilot for the 171st Air Refueling Squadron, Michigan Air National Guard, conducts a pre-flight inspection on a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft while temporarily stationed at Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport in Gwinn, Michigan, on Oct. 1, 2024. A rotating group of nearly 100 Airmen from the 127th Air Refueling Group, and personnel from the 127th Mission Support Group, temporarily shifted KC-135 flying operations to Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport (formerly K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base) and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Romulus, Michigan, while Selfridge Air National Guard Base undertook routine flight-line maintenance and resurfacing.
