Gen. John Lamontagne, Air Mobility Command commander, recognizes Senior Airman Rafel De Jesus, a C-17A sheet metal corrosion specialist, during his visit to the 89th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, October 9, 2024. Airman De Jesus was pivotal in three separate aircraft impoundments. He gathered measurements for nondestructive inspection, prepared and executed the Liquid Oxygen Compartment repair after an aircraft fire. He also worked on a plenum glass repair, finding a solution in the face of limited parts.
