Quartermaster 1st Class Ayala Perkins makes deck log entries and monitors USS Winston S. Churchill’s location while standing watch as Quartermaster of the Watch (QMOW). It is the QMOW’s job to assist the bridge watch team with safety of navigation and maintain the ship’s deck log, Oct. 24, 2024. Churchill, assigned to the Gerald R Ford Carrier Strike Group (GRFCSG), is underway in the U.S. 2nd Fleet area of operations conducting Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT).
