In June 1943, The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” was ordered overseas to perform for American Soldiers and Allies in Europe. Eventually that group was renamed The U.S. Army Ceremonial Band and now supports thousands of funerals in Arlington National Cemetery annually.
