Chief Master Sgt. LaWanda Jackson, 192nd Support Squadron's Logistics Readiness Flight senior enlisted leader, retires from the 192nd Wing, Virginia Air National Guard, Nov. 16, 2024, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. Retired Lt. Col. Pamela Garner, former director of strategic plans and policy for the VaANG at the Virginia National Guard’s Bob Slaughter Headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond, presided over the ceremony attended by Guardsmen, retirees and Jackson's family and friends. In September 2021, Jackson was promoted to the highest enlisted rank of chief master sergeant and made history as the first Black female in the VaANG to achieve the rank.
