Two U.S. Army M109A7 "Paladin" self-propelled howitzers operated by Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, prepare for training Nov. 20, 2024 on U.S. Army Garrision-Fort Cavazos. The latest variant of the M109 weapons platform, the M109A7 utilizes novel electrical loading systems and shares parts with the Bradley Fighting Vehicle chassis to streamline production, parts acquisition, maintenance and training in order to minimize operational costs.
