Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency team members wet screen soil during a recovery mission in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Nov. 15, 2024. Recovery team members used a high-pressure water hose to break up excavated soil upon quarter-inch steel mesh, searching for anything relevant to the incident of loss, such as aircraft wreckage, life support evidence, and potential osseous material.
