A local Lao worker dry screens soil during a recovery mission in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Nov. 6, 2024. Throughout the screening process, any materials found are collected by the team’s life support investigator and then reviewed by the team’s scientific recovery expert. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s humanitarian mission has a significant role in the Department of Defense’s efforts to build partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region and around the world.
