U.S. Marine Corps Drill Instructor, Staff Sgt. Simon Williams Jr., with India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, instructs recruits during a M16A4 service rifle issue at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, Dec. 9, 2024. Recruits will carry their rifles throughout recruit training and will learn how to properly clean and maintain them to help extend the life of the rifles for future recruits.
