U.S. Army Capt. Jacob Maechler comes to Munson Army Health Center from Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. He first served in the Army as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Officer, before applying and getting selected for the Interservice Physician Assistant Program.

IPAP offers well qualified officers, warrant officers, and enlisted Soldiers the opportunity to attend PA school. In line units, physician assistants serve as the primary medical provider to Soldiers in battalion and division level units and are responsible for unit medical readiness and training medics.

They can also provide healthcare to Soldiers, family members, and other eligible beneficiaries at military treatment facilities like Munson.
