Trucks and cranes are used to place rip rap on the lakeside face of the dam at Lake O' the Pines. A cable is used to assist the truck descending and ascending the dam to prevent damage to the face of the dam to preclude possible erosion. The lake’s mission is to provide water to the Northeast Texas Municipal Water District and flood risk mitigation to communities along the Red River.
