Santa arrives at the Tree Lighting with a ride from the Fort Meade Fire Department.
On December 6, 2024, Fort Meade community members gathered at the Main Post Chapel to celebrate the festive season with a tree lighting. Garrison Chaplain (Col.) Keith Goode spoke about the meaning of the holiday and The U.S. Army Field Band provided seasonal music. After Garrison Commander Col. Yolanda Gore and Command Sgt. Maj. Richard Moore ceremonially turned on the lights, Santa Claus came to speak with the children of Fort Meade.
