Tom Jordon, the information technology department manager with Moral, Welfare and Recreation's, picks up trash at the Downtown Lyceum theater as part of the base-wide Earth Day cleanup effort April 25. The cleanup was an all-morning event held to help eliminate loose trash and improve the overall cleanliness of Guantanamo Bay for Earth Day. After the cleanup, base volunteers provided food and beverages for a picnic at Ferry Landing, along with information on being eco-friendly and what "green" activities are available at Guantanamo. JTF Guantanamo conducts safe and humane care and custody of detained enemy combatants. The JTF conducts interrogation operations to collect strategic intelligence in support of the Global War on Terror and supports law enforcement and war crimes investigations. JTF Guantanamo is committed to the safety and security of American service members and civilians working inside its detention facilities.
