FINEGAYAN, Guam (Dec. 20, 2024) - Safety staff with the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas check water pressure and water temperature in the showers of H-2B visa workers living quarters. The barracks are owned and operated by a contractor working on Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz.
The H-2B visa program allows U.S. employers or U.S. agents who meet specific regulatory requirements to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary nonagricultural jobs.
Contractor owned facilities for these are inspected at least twice a year. In the aftermath of Typhoon Mawar in 2023, the OICC conducted six inspections to ensure all facilities were adequately repaired after typhoon damages.
