FINEGAYAN, Guam (Dec. 20, 2024) - Safety staff with the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas examine a buffet in a dining facility for H-2B visa workers. OICC staff look for any health and safety concern while verifying facility maintenance is up-to-date.
The H-2B visa program allows U.S. employers or U.S. agents who meet specific regulatory requirements to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary nonagricultural jobs. The contractor owned and operated barracks support hundreds of H-2B visa workers who conduct construction on Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz.
Facility inspections occur at least twice a year. In the aftermath of Typhoon Mawar in 2023, the OICC conducted six inspections to ensure the contractor's facilities were adequately repaired after typhoon damages.
