FINEGAYAN, Guam (Dec. 20, 2024) - Safety staff with the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas conducted a safety inspection of various sites on a contractor-owned facility for H-2B visa workers, including a small corner store stocked with snacks and home goods.
The H-2B visa program allows U.S. employers or U.S. agents who meet specific regulatory requirements to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary nonagricultural jobs. The contractor owned and operated facilities support hundreds of H-2B visa workers who conduct construction on Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz.
Facility inspections occur at least twice a year. In the aftermath of Typhoon Mawar in 2023, the OICC conducted six inspections to ensure this contractor's facilities were adequately repaired after typhoon damages
