Staff Sgt. Francisco Orozco, the Illinois Army National Guard's Recruiting and Retention Battalion's "Noncommissioned Officer of the Year" holds the "Company of the Year" award presented to the H Company "Honey Badgers" at the battalion's annual award banquet on Nov. 16 in Peoria. The Woodstock-based unit enlisted 119 Soldiers into the Illinois Army National Guard in fiscal year 2024, with Orozco enlisting 35 Soldiers. The Illinois Army National Guard's recruiting cadre celebrated their successes, shared information, and enjoyed a night of comradery.
