A water truck sprays newly laid material along the toe of Canton Lake Dam, Dec. 30, 2024 where the Tulsa District Hub crew works on an erosion control project. Once wet, the material is compacted using a track dump truck. The crew lays down three to four inches of material, compacts it, and repeats the process until they achieve nine inches of compacted material at 85% compaction. Each time the material reaches 2,000 tons of sand; an independent company tests the compaction ratios. (Official U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Photo By Stacey Reese/Released)
