Defense Logistics Agency Information Operations Network Technician Derick Butler assembles a man portable satellite terminal in Germersheim, Germany, May 6, to establish expeditionary field communications capabilities for agency personnel supporting the U.S. Army’s DEFENDER ’24 exercise in Europe. The agency’s J6 Contingency IT Operations team provides rapid deployable information technology capabilities tailored to the needs of DLA expeditionary teams, enabling delivery of logistics support for America’s armed forces and other federal agencies during military contingencies and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. All CITOPS capabilities provide access into the DLA Enterprise Network for data and voice services utilizing a suite of communication links such as tactical cellular backhaul, low-earth-orbit commercial satellite and military satellite.
