Jim Neuman, the historian for Navy Region Hawaii, stands on the bow of the Peter Tomich (39-6), a ship used for white boat tours, before an upcoming tour. During the tours, Neuman shares the history of Pearl Harbor while passengers are ferried to and from the Arizona Memorial (BB-39). As historian, Neuman shares and preserves the history of Joint Base Pearl Harbor – Hickam, which often involves sharing the history of the USS Arizona Memorial during boat tours to the monument, which gets over 1.3 million visitors each year.
