PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 20, 2024) Seaman Apprentice Peterlee Blaise from Haiti, carries the jackstaff to the bow (front) on the fo’c’sle on the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) while pulling into port, January 20. The jackstaff was raised in preparation for Benfold’s arrival into Subic Bay, Philippines. Benfold is forward deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s Largest DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
