The Lake City Army Ammunition Plant hoists the American flag during the groundbreaking ceremony for its new ammunition production facility, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, in Independence, Mo. The new facility will produce 6.8mm ammunition, enhancing soldier lethality and accuracy, bolstering the Army's modernization priorities, and supporting the local economy.
