The amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) mascot presents Capt. John D. Deehr, commanding officer, a large Battle “E” ribbon in commemoration of the ship’s award. Peleliu is the flagship for the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
