The New York Division of Military and Naval Affairs is issuing state medals commemorating service in the Iraq War, left, and the Afghan War, right, to those who served in the conflict. Veterans need to provide a DD314 providing their service in Iraq or Afghanistan.
The state medals were approved by the governor and the legislature to thank veterans for their service. They cannot be worn on military uniforms.
