Brig. Gen. Clinton K. Murray, U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence commanding general, and Command Sgt. Maj. Victor J. Laragione, MEDCoE, stand with the 2025 MEDCoE Officer of the Year, 1st Lt. Jacob Walkup, 264th Medical Battalion, Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, Sgt. 1st Class Patrick Vela, Headquarters Support Command, and Soldier of the Year, Spc. Ryan Witman, 188th Medical Battalion, who earned the titles during the 2025 Best of the Best competition. During the competition, they also earned the Gold Schützenschnur Badge, or the German Armed Forces Badge for Weapons Proficiency, and were awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
Soldiers from MEDCoE participated in the 2025 Best of the Best competition, competing for the titles of Officer, Noncommisssioned Officer and Soldier of the Year, as well as a place on the MEDCoE Best Squad, March 9-11, 2025, on Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.
