A U.S. Air Force MC-130J Commando II assigned to the 353rd Special Operations Wing and Republic of Korea Special Operations Forces combat controllers conduct a simulated highway landing on Namji Airfield, South Korea, during exercise Freedom Shield 2025, March 13, 2025. This mission validated the U.S. and ROK combined capability of establishing a landing zone on a highway, landing an MC-130J in the established zone, finding and recovering injured personnel, and safely transporting those personnel to medical facilities to receive the care they need. FS25 serves as a regular exercise between the ROK and the U.S., ensuring constant preparedness for military forces. (U.S. Air Force photo by 1st Lt. Cullen Drenkhahn)
