The "Dirty Dozen," accompanied by their senior leadership, poses for a photograph on top of their bunker, May 16. Marines stationed at Camp Taqaddum with Personnel Retrieval and Processing Detachment, Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Marine Logistics Group, are responsible for recovering and processing the remains of U.S., Iraqi and coalition personnel before providing the "angels" a dignified transfer back to their families. The billets are filled on a volunteer basis with service members from the Marine Corps Reserve.
