Every year during the last full week of April we celebrate our Medical Laboratory Professionals, and this year marks the 50th year of celebration and education. As we mark National Medical Laboratory Week, we would like to take a moment and recognize the critical contributions our team has made. Often working behind the scenes, their meticulousness, devotion, and expertise form the backbone of our mission - ensuring readiness, health, and operational excellence. Whether it’s processing specimens or validating results, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety, the team’s work directly supports our ability to provide timely, accurate care to make informed decisions.
Why the Medical Laboratory Profession Matters:
Approximately 70% of medical decisions depend on lab results. From routine bloodwork to complex drug screenings, laboratory testing provides the data clinicians rely on to make informed decisions. And yet, many people, including healthcare professionals, outside the field remain unaware of just how much the clinical laboratory contributes to the health care industry and patient treatment.
