U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Martin Gakuria (top) and Spc. The Best Warrior Competition is a multi-event competition, which tests soldiers both physically and mentally in various military topics and activities. At the conclusion of the three-day event, one soldier and one noncommissioned officer is selected to be awarded the title 79th SSC Best Warrior and represent the command in the U.S. Army Reserve Best Warrior Competition scheduled to be held at Fort McCoy, Wis., June 23-28. A total of six Army Reserve soldiers, who were selected from more than 20,000 warrior-citizens, competed for the title 79th SSC "Best Warrior."
