Lieutenant William Wellborn, a platoon commander with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion directs Sgt. James O’Neal, a team leader, during the four-hour trip from Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, N.C., to the USS Bataan (LHD-5), April 10, 2013 on a zodiac, a small inflatable boat with a hand steered engine on the back. Two teams helped the USS Bataan receive its certification for launching and recovering small watercraft and also certified Alpha Company, 2nd Recon Bn., for open sea launch and recovery from ship.
