Bankus, the outgoing sergeant major of 8th Engineer Support Battalion, salutes the colors during the national anthem during a relief and appointment ceremony held by the battalion aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., April 18, 2013. During his tour, Bankus deployed with the battalion in 2012 and supported Hurricane Sandy relief efforts with 8th ESB.
