Vietnam veteran and former U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class John Blehm, recipient of three Purple Hearts, tries on an advanced combat helmet with attached night vision device with current members of Company D, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division in their headquarters on April 17, 2013. Blehm earned his Purple Hearts in a 7-month period while serving with "The D 1-5" in the Bong Son area while it was engaged in some of the most brutal fighting of the war.
