Sergeant Andrew McClure, an Armored Vehicle-Launched Bridge vehicle commander serving with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, and a native of Boise, Idaho, and Cpl. Phillip Hopper, an AVLB operator, and a native of Memphis, Tenn., make the two-man team to operate their AVLB. Marines used the AVLB during combat operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and numerous humanitarian aid and disaster relief exercises.
