Ensign Douglas Ragsdale hands a silver dollar to Master Sgt. Lonnie Flores after receiving his traditional first salute at the University of Michigan. Ragsdale was commissioned to his present rank along with 19 other Naval ROTC Navy- and Marine-option midshipmen, officer candidates and Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Education Program students. Flores is the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor for the unit. Ragsdale has been designated as a Student Naval Aviator and is undergoing training at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla. (U. S.
