Kevin Cosgriff (middle), commander, Combined Maritime Forces and Canadian navy Commodore Bob Davidson (right), incoming commander, CTF 150 participate in the CTF 150 change of command ceremony aboard FS Marne June 3. The ceremony marked the French navy's fifth successful command of CTF 150, a multi-national task force that conducts maritime security operations in the Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea, Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. MSO help develop security in the maritime environment, which promotes stability and global prosperity. These operations complement the counterterrorism and security efforts of regional nations and seek to disrupt violent extremists' use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material.
