After three decades of service the nation, Farris, 7th Infantry Division deputy commanding general for operations, is honored during a retirement ceremony hosted by Lanza. Farris, a 1983 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, has served six deployments in Operations Just Cause, Desert Shied/Storm, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, as well as a tour in Korea. He said he is looking forward to fishing and spending time with his wife, Tara, and their three kids is Bristow, Va., but he will always "miss serving with soldiers, the camaraderie and the shared sense of purpose at being on point for the nation."
