Air Force Brig. Gen. Tony McMillan, assistant adjutant general for Domestic Operations, North Carolina National Guard receives the unit colors from Army Col. John A. Byrd during a change of command ceremony for the 139th Regiment (North Carolina Regional Training Institute – Combat Arms) at the unit’s headquarters at Fort Bragg, N.C., July 13. Byrd has commanded the unit since 2010 and is replaced by Col. Army Col. Lawrence R. Powell, who completed an assignment as commander of the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team.
