U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Joshua Wray, a 24-year-old rifleman with 2nd platoon, Company L, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, center, jokes with fellow U.S. Marines and Australian soldiers as they provide crowd control during initial talks between the mayor of Waratah village and the Australian forces liaison officer during Talisman Saber 2013. Wray role-plays as a policeman for the mock village, which was designed to teach service members how to establish a relationship with a community not accustomed to foreign aid. Talisman Saber enhances multilateral collaboration between U.S. and Australian forces in support of future combined operations, humanitarian assistance and natural disaster response.
