    22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit

Staff Sgt. Daniel Barrientes, Combat Logistics Battalion 22, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit radio chief and native of Chicago, exits a modular amphibious egress trainer during underwater egress training at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., July 29, 2013. The MAET, known as the “helo dunker,” has every type of door used in a Marine Corps or Navy helicopter and submerges and rotates to mimic the actions a Marine would experience during a helicopter water landing. The MEU is scheduled to deploy in early 2014 to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
