Capt. Karl Leonard relieved Capt. Stash Pelkowski as commanding officer of the Coast Guard Reserve Unit Joint Staff Suffolk during a change of command ceremony Saturday in Suffolk. The change of command ceremony conveys to the officers, enlisted members and civilian employees members of the Coast Guard that although the authority of command is relinquished by a leader and is assumed by another, it is still maintained without interruption.
