Members of the Joint Task Force Guantanamo's Staff Judge Advocate office encircle a historical maker of a cut water line during their tour of U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay's North East Gate, June 20, 2008. The water line was ordered to be cut and a section removed Feb. 17, 1964, by Rear Adm. John Bulkeley, to disprove the accusation that the United States was stealing water from Cuba. Joint Task Force Guantanamo conducts safe and humane care and custody of detained enemy combatants. The JTF conducts interrogation operations to collect strategic intelligence in support of the global war on terror and supports law enforcement and war crimes investigations. JTF Guantanamo is committed to the safety and security of American service members and civilians working inside its detention facilities.
