Sgt. Jarvis Shedrick, a unit supply noncommissioned officer for Headquarter and Headquarters Battery 1st Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery, translates English with his sponsor Sgt. Hirofumi Shimabukuro, 6th Antiaircraft Group, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force during a bilateral Noncommissioned Officer exchange program on Aug. 5 at Camp Naha, Japan. This five-day event allowed seven U.S. Army NCOs to learn how the JGSF works and included combatives, a physical fitness test, training observation and a history class on the Battle of Okinawa.
