Hickerson, a World War II veteran and frequent visitor of the Belton Senior Activity Center with trying on an interceptor body armor Aug. 8, in the center's parking lot in Belton, Texas. Hickerson is 92 years old, and has served as a private first class mortar man in WWII. When asked what he thought about the gear he tried on, he said he thought it was much heavier than what he used to wear in his time.
